Messaging
services
Besides
just sharing files, users of a network often wish to communicate with each
other. In a small company, they can probably just shout, but in larger
networks, particularly those that span multiple locations, electronic mail
(usually abbreviated as e-mail) can be an important element of communication.
Netware has
e-mail capabilities built-in. the software that handles messaging is called the
Netware message handling service, or MHS. MHS handles the basic of messaging.
You will need an e-mail application, first mail, like SBACKUP, first mail isn’t
the most sophisticated program, but it works and it’s free.
Many e-mail
programs are available commercially. These programs offer more features than first
mail and can used in larger applications. We produce group called formerly WordPerfect
office.

service
In a large
network, things are a bit more complicated than a simple collection of
workstations and a server. Multiple servers are often included, and there may
be more than one set of network cabling, using different network topologies.
You may even need to communicate with other network systems, such as Apple
Talk, VINES, or IBM LAN server.
Netware
makes all of this possible thought the Netware multiprotocol router or MPR. The
MPR is a piece of software that runs on the Netware server and allows it to act
as a router. A router is simply a device that connects two different types of
networks.
